Research by & about community community-led abortion care in North America.

At-Home abortions are safe and effective, especially with skilled guidance from community providers.

Our research shows at-home abortions with a diversity of methods, including herbs, medications, and home aspirations, are effective, with the same safety profile as clinical abortion care.

Bringing community practice to academia research

From 2018-2022, researchers engaged with a network of at-home abortion providers in North America through a Community-Based Participatory Research project (CBPR) to investigate motivations, methods, and outcomes of skilled non-clinical community abortion providers & their clients’ abortions. We have analyzed this data set with community collaboration to present to the public, activists, and back to community providers themselves to see the fruits of their labor.

Help us get the word out! Let’s promote the evidence-based safety of diverse methods of abortion care.
